  Most students are struggling or failing their online courses because many of them find it harder to engage digitally.     Due to the fact that I am a student myself who is also taking online courses, I immediately sparked interest in this topic because I am currently going through the same issue now. Ever since Covid-19, a majority of school systems decided to do virtual learning for the safety of the students and staff. For most of these students digital learning came completely new to them, including myself.   The song “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King is a popular and excellent song with a great message. The song is familiar worldwide because everyone can relate to it. The message in the song “Stand by Me” is that no matter how strong you are, at some point we all just need someone to stand by us.    The artist Ben E. King communicates through the song that it is ok for anyone to need someone by their side because as humans we all need somebody. He also communicates that things are easier to handle when you have someone standing by your side because there’s less weight for one person to carry. Communication is a very important skill to have, as well as how you are communicating. There are different forms of communication. Communication can be through written text, orally, or non-verbal communication. Which form of communication that you use should be chosen based on who your audience is. For instance, you would not want to write a document for a small child that may or may not be able to read up to a certain level. The best form of communication for this audience would probably be visually since a child’s verbal skills are probably not all the way developed.     How you visually appeal to the audience is key in getting the message across and understood. If you are informing an individual of new information about their skeletal bones, a visual media such as an informative video would probably be the best option for your audience.   There is quite some controversy and debate about whether or not Thomas Edison should receive credit for the invention of the light bulb. Although Edison may not have come up with the idea of the light bulb himself, he should still receive his credit for successfully creating the light bulb. The idea of the light bulb was around for some time before Edison’s creation. George Edwin Taylor became the first African American man in America to run for president in 1904. Kamala Harris has become the first African American woman to run for vice president, alongside Joe Biden. Being the first to do something can be a tough position to fulfill. Off the bat because you are the first to do something and since nobody has seen it done before, people are ultimately going to doubt you. That is the biggest obstacle that these two candidates had to or have to overcome. Taylor was taken for a joke when he decided to run for president.
